James Andrew, Winter 2015

The polar vortex has once again decended upon us here in the city, and I’m pretty grateful that I’ve spent the time to make my home a nice refuge — the place is appointed only with things that uplift: fine china, crystal, linens, (and my friend Alex Hitz’s My Beverly Hills Kitchen cookbook and House Beautiful column for cuisine ideas)! I have down pillows and couches for me and my friends to lounge on, massive well-stocked book shelves (and an equally well-stocked bar, of course) and all of the amenities to fare the worst of the season in elevated style. Every surface is tailored to provide visual and tactile comfort. It’s part of my full sensory approach, and as a professional designer it goes without saying that I’m always considering how best to provide that same level of livability for my clients, giving them a cozy, elevated retreat from whatever might be happening outside.

Braving the winter, I’m captured here next to the beautifully frozen fountain at Bryant Park. I’m sporting a Tom Ford era Gucci black cashmere top coat, Tom Ford charcoal tweed jacket with brown suede elbow patches, Tom Ford brown cotton corduroy pants, amber cashgora sweater and brown leather tasseled loafers, brown cashmere turtleneck from Uniqlo, Dark brown peccary gloves by Fort Belvedere, vintage wool challis paisley scarf, Gucci sunglasses, Gucci suede bag, and my fragrance is Creed’s Vintage Tabarome.
