James Andrew – vintage Vespa
While driving a golf cart through Lyford and West Palm Beach is pretty fun, I recently took a spin on one of my client’s gorgeous vintage Vespas, and I’m hooked! I often work with clients to scout out perfect properties around the world, and I pride myself with having a comprehensive sense of what my clients prefer, what their needs are, and whether a property has potential to fill those needs — generally this saves a great deal of time and effort for all involved!
A couple of clients who are currently living in “Welly World” (an insider’s term for the Palm Beach Polo Club and the general surrounds 20 minutes west of Palm Beach) are looking to switch homes, so I spent a bit of time recently sifting through possibilities. Most of Palm Beach Polo was developed in the 70s and 80s and now many of these homes are in need of a facelift, but there really is a lot one can do with some judicious landscaping and a few well selected edits to transform many of these places into rather ravishing homes! Taking a spin around on a vintage Vespa was not only great fun but a highly effective way to get the lay of the land, so to speak, and I did happen to find a few places that look quite promising! We’ll see where this all leads.
Dressed for my Vespa adventure, I’m sporting a Tom Ford Indigo and Ivory silk glen plaid jacket, royal cotton pants, pale blue micro herringbone cotton shirt with French cuffs, ocean blue and white dot print pocket square, pearl and pale blue sapphire cuff links, woven blue leather Adriano Meneghetti belt, Ralph Lauren royal blue suede espadrilles, vintage Rolex, Tom Ford Costa Azzura fragrance and a touch of Tom Ford bronzing gel for that sun kissed glow.
